Roofing SEO for Fort Myers and Cape Coral roofers
Lee County roofing runs on hurricane cycles, insurance rules that have changed three times since 2021, and homeowners who research before they call. We build the search presence that wins those searches — without tripping Florida's roof-claim advertising law.

Why Lee County roofing search behaves differently
Most roofing markets have a storm season. Lee County has storm years — and the searches that follow them. After Ian, homeowners were not typing “roofer near me”; they were typing questions about insurance, permits and whether a damaged roof had to be fully replaced. The roofers who answered those questions on their own websites became the names homeowners already trusted when they were ready to sign.
The second difference is the rulebook. Florida now restricts how a roofer can advertise anything connected to an insurance claim, has banned most assignment-of-benefits agreements on newer policies, and carved an exception into the old “25% rule.” Each of those changed what homeowners search for and what you are allowed to say back. Good roofing SEO here is as much about writing within those lines as it is about rankings.
The Lee County roofing market, in facts
What we build Fort Myers and Cape Coral roofing campaigns around. Each point links to its source at the bottom of the page.
Ian made landfall over Cayo Costa as a Category 4 on September 28, 2022 — almost exactly where Charley came ashore in 2004 — and more than 50,000 Lee County homes and businesses were impacted. [2]
The Cape Coral–Fort Myers metro grew from 760,827 people at the 2020 Census to an estimated 875,607 by July 2025 — roughly 115,000 more roofs to win or lose. [3]
About 28.8% of the metro's residents were 65 or older in 2024, against roughly 18% nationally. Older homeowners research more before booking — which rewards detailed, trustworthy pages over thin ones. [4]
Florida's §489.147 (SB 76, 2021) bars contractors from advertising that encourages homeowners to contact them about a roof insurance claim, and from offering anything of value for an inspection or claim. Fines run up to $10,000 per violation. [5]
Under SB 2-A, residential property policies issued on or after January 1, 2023 no longer allow post-loss benefits to be assigned to a contractor — the old “sign here and we'll deal with the insurer” pitch is gone for newer policies. [6]
Since May 2022, if a roof was built, repaired or replaced to the 2007 Florida Building Code or later, only the portion being repaired has to meet current code — partial repair is often possible where full replacement used to be required. [7]
One result built for Fort Myers. The rest weren't.
When we searched “roofing seo fort myers” on Google, only one of the top results was a page actually written for Fort Myers roofers. The others were statewide “Florida roofing SEO” pages, national agency homepages, a Reddit thread from a local roofer asking for advice, a Facebook group post and a roofing company's own site.
That is the clearest signal a market can give: Google is filling the page with near-misses because nothing better exists. It is also a preview of what Fort Myers homeowners see for their own searches — the space goes to whoever publishes something genuinely local first.
How we'd run SEO for a Lee County roofer
What it costs in Fort Myers
Roofing SEO runs on the same three tiers everywhere we work — $499, $799 or $1,199 a month, no setup fee — and the market changes what goes into them, not what they cost. The full tier comparison is on the roofing SEO page. If you need inspections booked this month rather than in six, roofing Google Ads start from $650 a month plus a $499 setup.
Fort Myers roofing SEO questions
Straight answers. Anything not covered here, ask on the phone.
01Can I still advertise free roof inspections in Florida?
Advertising inspections is not the problem — what you tie to them is. Florida's §489.147 targets advertising that encourages a homeowner to contact you about a roof insurance claim, and offering anything of value (rebates, gift cards, deductible help) in exchange for an inspection or claim. We write inspection pages accordingly, but have your attorney review anything claim-related before it goes live.
02Should I target Fort Myers or Cape Coral first?
Start where your Google Business Profile address is, because the map pack is anchored to it. Organic city pages can reach further — but only build one for a city where you can show real jobs and reviews. Two strong pages beat five thin ones.
03How long does roofing SEO take in Lee County?
Map pack movement usually takes three to six months. The organic results for agency-style searches here are unusually thin, which can help a well-built page show earlier — but nobody honest can promise a date.
04Does hurricane season change the SEO plan?
Yes. The content and profile work needs to be finished before June, because once a storm is named every roofer in Southwest Florida is competing for the same searches. SEO cannot be switched on after a storm; paid search can, which is why many roofers run both.
