A contractor marketing agency for companies that sell booked jobs
Ninelane runs paid search, SEO, websites and lead follow-up for contractors across 90+ trades in the US, UK and Canada. One team, no long contracts, and reporting that ends at signed work rather than impressions.

Contractor marketing has a specific failure mode. The agency generates leads, the contractor cannot tell which ones became jobs, and both sides argue about quality for six months until the contract ends. Nobody was lying — nobody was measuring.
We start every engagement by wiring tracking to the outcome that matters: a booked estimate, a signed contract, a scheduled install. Once that connection exists, every other decision gets easier, because the argument about lead quality becomes a spreadsheet instead of an opinion.
Marketing built around your trade
The auction, the seasonality and the follow-up window change by trade. These pages cover how each one actually buys, with pricing you can compare.
Plumbing, electrical, remodeling, restoration and specialty trades run on the same six lanes — tell us your trade and we will say plainly which ones fit. Already know what you need? Compare Google Ads management, local SEO, contractor website design, CRM and lead follow-up, or the AI Appointment Engine that books leads while you are on a job.
Where a trade has its own auction dynamics we run it as its own discipline — roofing SEO and roofing PPC, HVAC SEO, HVAC PPC and HVAC web design — and the same approach for plumbing companies, electrical contractors, landscaping companies and handyman businesses. We also run dedicated programmes for painting companies, flooring companies, garage door companies and tree service companies. For project-based and recurring-service businesses, see our programmes for general contractors, remodeling companies, solar installers and pest control companies. We also work with restoration companies, window and door companies, concrete contractors and fence companies.
What we run for contractors
Six lanes. Build work is one-time, demand and follow-up work is monthly, and every lane is available on its own.
A free audit tells you where your leads are leaking, before you pay anything.
How we work differently
You own every account
Ad accounts, website, hosting, tracking and CRM stay in your name with us as a managed user. Agencies that hold your accounts hostage are betting you will not leave. We would rather earn the renewal.
The person who audits it runs it
No handoff from a senior salesperson to a junior pod after signing. Small shop by choice — it is the only way the person making bid decisions also knows what your crews can service.
Ninety days, then month to month
The build window exists because tracking, structure and content need time to produce honest data. After that there is no contract. We keep accounts by keeping cost per job down.
Ninety-plus trades of pattern recognition
When we open a new plumbing or remodeling account we already know what the auction costs in March, which negative keywords save a thousand dollars a month, and how fast the phone has to be answered before the lead is gone.
How the first ninety days run
Audit & instrumentation
Call tracking, form tracking and conversion values wired up before a dollar moves. You get a written audit of where leads are leaking today.
Build & launch
Campaigns, pages and follow-up sequences shipped as one connected path rather than three disconnected projects.
Tune to cost per job
Weekly optimization against closed revenue. Same dashboard for you and us, and no contract after the window closes.
Contractor marketing agency questions
Straight answers. Anything not covered here, ask on the phone.
01What does a contractor marketing agency cost?
Paid search is $499 setup plus $650/month, local SEO runs $499 to $1,199/month, and paid social starts at $650/month — plus ad spend paid directly to the platform. One-time build work runs $1,500 to $7,500 for a website and $500 to $750 per landing page. A full Growth-tier program across all six lanes is $4,500 to build and $4,397 monthly.
02Which trades do you work with?
More than ninety niches: roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, remodeling, restoration, pest, dental, med spa, legal and specialty B2B. The vertical changes the auction, the seasonality and the follow-up window — not the method.
03How much should a contractor spend on marketing?
Five to ten percent of revenue is the usual benchmark, but the more useful calculation is backwards from job economics: take your average job value, multiply by gross margin, and decide what share of that margin you will pay to acquire a job. That sets your allowable cost per lead, and the auction tells you whether it is achievable.
04Do you guarantee leads or results?
No, and be skeptical of anyone who does. Results depend on your market, competition, pricing, capacity and follow-up speed — several of which are on your side of the line. What we commit to is tracking that shows exactly what the spend produced.
05Can you work with my existing website?
Often yes. If the site loads fast and converts, we run traffic to it and build landing pages where needed. If it is the bottleneck, we will say so rather than quietly wasting your ad budget on a page nobody calls from.
06What size contractor do you work with?
Most clients run two to twenty trucks or one to five locations. Below about $2,000 a month in ad spend we usually recommend starting with SEO and Google Business Profile work instead of paid search, because the campaign cannot gather enough conversion data to optimize.
